In general, Australians tend to drink the wines that are produced in the regions they live in, but overall, Barossa Shiraz and McLaren Vale Grenache are very popular in restaurants and wine shops around the country. The same can be seen in the United States, too.
The Wine Channel Purchase Behaviour of Australian Wine Consumers report (December 2021) is the outcome of an original research project commissioned by Wine Australia. The report provides insights into how consumers choose between wine-buying channels, what barriers exist for each channel and how consumer choices and behaviour has been influenced by Covid-19 and associated restrictions. Opportunities for wineries to increase sales through winery-owned channels are identified.
The report was prepared for Wine Australia by Ballyhannan Project Management based on original research undertaken in the second half of 2021. The research included a mix of quantitative surveys of over 1000 wine consumers and in-depth interviews with 20 respondents recruited through the quantitative survey.

90/8/2% cabernet sauvignon/petit verdot/malbec. Wild ferment, matured in French oak (44% new) for 18 months. Not enough can be said in favour of the 2018 vintage, producing wines just like this. Powerfully ripe and dense, with epic length of flavour...

This is a value packed wine that punches well above its weight. The bouquet is open and fruit driven displaying an abundance of red and black fruits, mixed with deft touches of spice and earthiness. You'll find generous proportions on the palate, with...
Crushed and destemmed, parcels spending between 12-21 days on skins, part matured on a mix of French oak staves for 3-4 months, part in used French hogsheads for 4 months. Serious vinification for a wine at this price.Score: 89 points -- James...

Cellaraiders is in the business of buying wine collector's cellars, either partial or complete. People sell their wine for many reasons; tastes change, the need to liquidate their investment, estate planning, financial difficulties, downsizing, etc.
The secondary market is a great place to find older wines at prices that rival auction, without waiting or the risk of losing the wine to a higher bidder. I take great pains to make sure that what I procure and sell to you has been properly cellared. I don't want to drink, nor do I want to sell, poorly cellared wine.
Our long term sustainable vision has seen us experimenting with making wine without preservatives for a number of years. This has resulted in this second release of Shiraz with no added preservative.
In an interesting twist the juice to make our Mistelle is from the same batch of Chardonnay that was used to make our inaugural "Wiggy" sparkling Chardonnay. The result is a complex and developed, luscious dessert style wine.
Tasting: This blend of Chardonnay and Petit Manseng is made in the high plateau of Manchuela, 1050m above sea level where snow coats the vineyards in winter. A fuller bodied style with white apple flesh, pear and nuts, the winemaking imparts a little oxidative character, it is low in added sulphur and certified vegan.
Tasting: This super delicious natural wine is one for the Sherry lovers and the adventurous! Produced organically, this table wine from Sherry country shows citrus, chamomile, cooked apple and lip smacking salinity, with a little bit of grip due to a small amount of time on skins.
Tasting: Bodegas Vinifícate are two brothers that after studying chemistry at university decided to make wine largely without the use of synthetic chemicals. They are part of the movement of reviving non fortified table wine from what is traditionally Sherry country. Crunchy, zippy bright acidity makes this wine super fresh and up front, bursting with zingy raspberry fruit and cherry undertones. Un-fined and unfiltered with minimal added sulphites.
Tasting: Deep red color with blue hints. In the nose the blueberry and ripe cherry notes stand out. Very sweet in the mouth, with ripe and soft tannin. The new oak brings notes of coconut and smoke. An elegant wine.
Tasting: Principally all Mencía, there is a small dash of Tempranillo and Garnacha making up 9% of this wine. Light bodied, but with additional ripeness and density brought by barrel aging. Supple loganberry, morello cherry and blackcurrants overlay delicate floral and blossom notes with notes of aromatic spices. Satin and sleek texture are at the core of this extremely poised and elegant wine.
